An elusive dream

I just chanced upon this phrase 'An elusive dream' and decided to make it a title for a blog. However, right now I am at a loss of that specific thread of thought which made me think of this particular phrase...

Maybe I will come back later and write something as poetic or lyrically beautiful as the title itself...

A haggard soul

Every morning when I pass by through the mist of the heavy traffic
Invariably my gaze falls on a haggard beggar woman
Funny little hat and tardy rags barely manage to cover her tattered body
Standing barefoot on the sun-baked path
Completely unaware of the looming nature’s wrath
She looks at the world with an unknown wisdom
Oblivious to the stinking stares she gets from the bystanders
Wondering what’s all the big fuss about
While she bellows with the thundering clouds

She fiddles and twitches as if she’s gets ready for a busy day
Looking upwards she gives a broken-tooth smile
While the rest of the world hurries to save their hinds
Dripping from head to toe she receives horrid glances
She fidgets with her hat
In the wistful hope it would save her
from the evils of the thunderous black clouds.

But her fate was not to be so
As the next moment a thunder crucifies her to the spot
Indignation and shock spreads across
As the crowd watches the horrid scene unfold before their eyes

Till a second before, her life was filled with cruelty and hatred
The very next moment she is subjected to shock, sympathy and incredulity
The world, which wouldn’t spare her a glance
Can now not take off their eyes from this haggard soul
Who lay crucified on the thunder struck path
